We are closed this week!

Auckland Library of Tools will be closed on the following days:

Tuesday 26th Jan

Thursday 28th Jan

Sat 30th Jan (long weekend)

We are also closed Sat 6th Feb for the long weekend.

We are open this Saturday the 23rd Jan for your borrowing needs. Any items checked out this week will be due back February 13th, so you’ll have plenty of time to tackle you project! You will not accrue any overdue fees during this period. We are extending loans until this date because…

We are moving!

From Feb 9th we will be open at our new location, 21 Newton Road, Eden Terrace, all checked out items must be returned to this location from February 9th.

To help us with our move, we are encouraging you to please return items to our new location!

We are open at our current location (48B Bond St, Kingsland) on these dates:

Saturday 23rd Jan

Tuesday 2nd Feb

Thursday 4th Feb

Our new location will be easier to find (street front), easy to access via public transport and bike, and much bigger! Hackland are moving as well, and we will continue to share a space with them. If you’re looking for a place to work on your projects, or for access to larger, specialized items (e.g. CNC and laser cutter). Hackland are open to the public on Thursday evenings.

Update for October 2021: Yes we are open again under Level 3!

We hope everyone had a safe lockdown. Thank you all for your support! Now that NZ has moved in to Level 3, ALoT will be re-opening for contact-less loans.

You can browse our inventory online and reserve your items. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, get in touch as we haven’t catalogued some newer and smaller items.

You will receive an email advising when your items are available for pickup. Reservations need to be collected on the day they are ready, if you are unable to make it please let us know.

When you come to pick up your items, please do not enter the building. Keep 2m away from our tool librarian/s. During Level 3, we will only have one volunteer (or bubble) operating the tool library, please be patient.

Please wear a mask and please scan the COVID-19 contact tracer code.

Have you been in to see us lately? Our inventory is growing rapidly and our new(ish) corner of Hackland is already full to the brim! Luckily for us, our lawnmowers and gardening equipment are flying out the door. If you’re keen to get stuck into your garden this spring, make sure you reserve items before dropping by for all your DIY needs….
